The Story Behind Holistika Labs

The world is changing and there is a huge demand For organic, natural, and sustainable products

“During the pandemic, my real estate business came to a complete halt. I took it as an opportunity to focus on my other passions. I have always felt a strong connection with nature, and in the past few years, I have been seeking ways to live a more natural and healthy lifestyle. I decided to build a beautiful garden, which, to this day, provides my family with 20 types of fresh, organic vegetables,” Neny Henriquez, the owner and founder of Holistika Labs explains.

I realized that it is just as essential to put healthy, organic products on your body as it is to put them into your body. Most of my creams and soaps had harsh and harmful chemicals. So, I began to make soaps infused with all-natural, organic ingredients.

“I was inspired by my mother to start making soaps. Not only was I anxious about her health and hygiene, but with the stress of the pandemic, she began to have severe psoriasis and eczema outbreaks again. She reminded me that she used to make all-natural soaps to soothe these outbreaks back in the day. I started making very gentle soaps for her with oatmeal, goat’s milk, aloe vera, and cocoa butter just like she used to make. After a week, her skin was completely different! No more outbreaks and no more rashes. The experience of soaping became almost an addiction because it was incredible to see how it affected my loved ones’ skin.”

“I shared my joy and excitement on my Facebook page and suddenly started receiving order requests from friends. I had not intended to make this a business, but just like my soaps, it happened organically. Friends started telling their friends, and before I knew it, all sorts of individuals and businesses began contacting me.

“Each person I spoke to had a different but beautiful reason. Some reached out to me because they have skin problems and cannot withstand using harsh soaps; others wanted to use my soaps because they don’t harm our planet; and others are enamored by the aromas, oils, and beautiful design.”

Besides creating soaps that are good for your skin and good for the planet, Holistika Labs is also totally plastic free. All packaging is made with biodegradable and compostable materials. “We use organic hemp fabric for our bags, recycled carton and paper and we minimize waste by not packaging products whenever possible.”

“I am happy and grateful that amidst a pandemic and global recession, I am able to do something that I am genuinely passionate about. I love my local community’s support. It is thanks to them that today I have my first brick and mortar shop, I am opening my second one, I have a partnership with Tara Eco Supplies, and my soaps will be available in a myriad of businesses, from hotels to pharmacies

“The most drastic change could be seen in my mother’s skin. She suffers from eczema and has constant outbreaks that leave her skin open and irritated. Her most severe outbreaks tend to be after she showers, and I was tired of looking for new shampoos and soaps that ended up resolving the issues only for a short term or would cause her more damage. I started making very gentle soaps for her with oatmeal, goat’s milk, aloe vera, and cocoa butter. After a week, her skin was completely different! No more outbreaks, no more rashes, and her skin remains calm and without issues to this day.”

“The pandemic also put hygiene and my family’s health into perspective like never before. I shared my joy and excitement on my Facebook page and suddenly started receiving order requests from friends. I had not intended to make this a business, but just like my soaps, it happened organically. Friends started telling their friends, and before I knew it, all sorts of individuals and businesses began contacting me.
